Pickles & Ice Cream Success
Friday, November 7th, 2008
Michael and I attended our first expo, the Cox Women’s Health Pickles & Ice Cream luncheon, and it was a great success!
We had such a wonderful response from the attendees and I made some good business contacts as well.
It is rewarding to hear such positive comments about our products. Congratulations to Lisa S. of Springfield who won our Green Apple Baby t-shirt give away.
Events like today raise our spirits and renew our energy to pursue our dream of building Green Apple Baby into a successful, baby friendly, environmentally and socially responsible business. Blessings, Kelly

Water Conservation
Sunday, August 31st, 2008
This summer, myself and three co-workers went to the Branson IMAX theatre to watch a powerful movie about water conservation. MacGillvray Freeman’s Grand Canyon Adventure-River at Risk is a must see for everyone. The film is narrated by Robert Reford and the soundtrack is music from the Dave Matthew’s Band (one of my personal favorites). We left the movie invigorated and motivated, feeling certain this movie would make a profound impact on everyone who watched it. The website is www.grandcanyonadventurefilm.com, please check out this incredible film.
Another film about global water quantity/quality coming out in September is FLOW. You can watch a trailer for the film at www.flowthefilm.com
Two main reasons I support organic farming-it uses less water & it doesn’t use pesticides that pollute the surrounding water supplies. To me, water conservation is every one’s responsibility. There are parts of the United States that are suffering from severe drought and water conservation is a key issue. Even though I live in a water rich area, our community is embracing water conservation practices. Some examples are planting rain gardens and using bioswales to capture storm runoff, using rain barrels to capture rain water to water gardens and lawns, and landscaping with native plants that require less water and have deeper root systems. Clean, abundant water is our most precious resource, conserving it for future generations is a necessity. God Bless the billions of people who live without access to clean water on a daily basis.
Together we can make a difference-Kelly
New Fall Collection
Sunday, August 17th, 2008
While I have enjoyed the unusually cool summer we have had in southwest Missouri, I am ready for the fall. One big reason is we will reveal our new collection in October! We are adding a collection of white Onesies, with prints inspired by nature, as we have had many requests for onesies! We are excited about this new collection and hope you love it too.
Also in October, Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods will be in Springfield and I will have a chance to hear him speak. If you haven’t read his book, it is fantastic. It is all about how kids need to be out in nature more. If we want our children to become good stewards of the environment, we must get them outdoors so they will appreciate and protect earth’s natural places. Blessings, Kelly
Silent Auctions
Sunday, August 10th, 2008
I recently had two inquiries from non-profits wanting to know if Green Apple Baby would donate a t-shirt as a silent auction item. I felt honored to give to their cause and wanted to share their information with you. The Garden Academy is a non profit organization which serves to educating children with autism and help raise community awareness of this disorder. Their website is GardenAcademy.org. La Leche League of Springfield is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2008 by holding their Second Annual Ice Cream Social and Silent Auction on Saturday, September 20th. La Leche League is a non-profit organization dedicated since 1957 to providing education, information, support and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed,www.llli.org. I would like to thank both organizations for including Green Apple Baby in their yearly events! Blessings, Kelly
